Education at FUMC
Matthew 9:35 tells us that Jesus "went through all the towns and villages teaching." At First Methodist, we believe that education is important at every stage of life. For this reason, we offer educational opportunities for our children, youth, and adults. Use the links below to find out about the programs we provide for each of these age specific ministries:
Children: The goal of our children's ministry is to providing love, support and programming so that our children know themselves to be God's children. Find out more here.
Youth: includes youth from grades 7 through 12. Weekly get-togethers include studies, activities, games and fellowship in an atmosphere of acceptance, fun and food for the spirit and the body! Our focus: seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and other believers, studying the scriptures and discovering Jesus and themselves! More details at www.fumyapp.com
Adults Classes: Classes are designed to meet your spiritual needs and offered at 9:45 AM each Sunday. See a list of classes with more information here.
Men's/ Women's Ministries:
Women's Ministries: From annual retreats to weekly Bible studies, the women of FUMC want to affirm your faith and nurture your spiritual growth. We invite you to explore a few of the opportunities:
Men's Ministry offers programming for men of all ages. In addition to our military ministry, we offer weekly men's bible studies and accountability groups. Throughout the year, we host men's dinners (with special guest speakers), retreats, camping trips, and fishing tournaments. Contact Josh Markham at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wednesday Night Classes: Click here to see information about classes, dinners and activities.
Senior Adult Ministries: Provides senior men and women with opportunities for fellowship, worship, service and spiritual growth. Monthly activities include the Senior Adult Game Day and Senior Adult Luncheon.
Music Ministries: The Worship of God is our central focus, with men, women, youth and children from all walks of life, volunteering each week. Adults have two options for vocal choirs and two handbell choirs as well as a worship band for our contemporary services. Youth can participate in a choir grades 7-12 and lead worship in our services once each month. Children can sing in children's choirs, age 4 through 6th grade and a handbell choir for grades 4-6 is also available. Finding your place in the Music Ministry of our church is as easy as contacting the church office or Elliott Peterson, Director of Music. Join us in worship through music!
